In Acrylic Nails!, the player creates a virtual avatar and chooses to be a man or woman. They can then choose a hairstyle and hair color, then they move to the makeup section where they can choose eye color, eye shape, eye shadow, lipstick, and blush. They then move to the nails section where they can choose nail shape, nail polish, and nail accessories. The player can also choose the clothing and accessories that the avatar is wearing. In Acrylic Nails, gameplay consists of choosing a design, clicking to start, and then painting over the design to make it look more realistic.

The player can customize the avatar's skin tone, eye color, and hair color. The player has a choice of 64 different colors for hair, eye, and nail polish. The clothing and accessories that the avatar wears can only be seen in the 3D mode. The graphics in Acrylic Nails are very nice and very realistic.
